Diana Kingston: March 12th - March 30th
Diana Kingston's eagerly awaited solo show opens at the OSB
gallery in Enniskerry on the 12th March (3.00 to 5.00 pm). Her beautifully
painted
and mysterious images find their source in the minute observation
of shells,
flowers, fruit and the detritus of the seashore. After two sell-out
shows in the Tom Caldwell Gallery in the 70s, Diana moved abroad
to Germany and
the Middle-East and was lost for more than 15 years to Irish art.
She is only now regaining her lofty reputation. Her exquisitely
crafted miniaturist
studies call to mind William Blake's phrase of seeing "the world in
a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower". As Blake isn't available
the show will be opened by another fine poet, Peter Fallon.
